The exquisite white-and-gold finish, luminous metallic-gold accents, beautifully executed OFFICIAL PACE CAR lettering, authentic Hurst/Olds markings, brilliant chrome and gold-accented wheels make this 1972 Indianapolis 500 pace car an extraordinary collector piece. The vehicle is MINT, and the richness and precision of its finish are absolutely spectacular. What makes this model so exciting is the artistry in its paint and graphics.

The lettering is extraordinarily crisp, the gold hood and side accents have a beautiful depth, and the entire car has a presence that photographs can only begin to capture. Between the finish, the weight and the wonderful attention to small details, this is Franklin Mint craftsmanship at its most satisfying. And now we can identify the particular example precisely: the model's own numbered plaque reads 1972 OLDS INDY 500 PACE CAR - LIMITED EDITION - 0515/5000. The plaque is photographed and provides direct confirmation of this limited-edition example.

The hood, doors and trunk open, displaying a finely detailed engine, a handsome black interior with wood-tone dashboard trim, and a finished trunk with spare tire. The undercarriage carries modeled mechanical components and dual exhaust.

Also included are both black convertible-top presentations -the separate raised top and the folded-top representation-both MINT. They let you display this gorgeous pace car with the roof raised or down. It is an especially appealing example for a Hurst/Olds, Oldsmobile, Indianapolis 500 or American muscle-car collection: spectacular in appearance, beautifully detailed, and numbered on the model itself. An absolutely gorgeous white-and-gold finish with beautifully executed lettering, graphics, chrome and interior detailing.

The numbered limited-edition plaque is present and reads 0515/5000. As with any hand-assembled precision diecast model, tiny factory-level finish or assembly variations may be present under extreme close inspection. Both the removable raised black convertible top and the separate folded-top representation are included and MINT.

The original Franklin Mint illustrated box shows only very mild shelf wear. Clean, with minor shelf wear, tape and writing. The carton carries its own printed code B11E303 ; the vehicle's edition number is confirmed separately by its numbered plaque. ACCEPTED inspection slip (Inspector 23). Other than no COA, the contents appear complete as photographed; everything being offered is shown in the pictures.
